2022 Volleyball Coaches

Tosha Vavak – coachtosha@metrowarriors.org

Head Varsity Volleyball Coach – Coach Tosha has roughly 15 years of coaching experience with the last 4 years of it coaching High School Volleyball in Montana. She and her husband and children moved back to the Omaha area just under 2 years ago. She has a HUGE passion for children and can’t wait to see what they do in the future for themselves and others. She and her family are BIG Husker volleyball and football fans and try to attend as many games as possible since moving back. Along with Volleyball her other love and passion is Tennis. She played in college and continues to hit when she can. Visiting the US Open is one thing on her bucket list that she hopes to experience with her dad and brothers who also played. She loves all things coffee and is grateful for her cup to help her start her day. She can’t wait to meet all of you and is so excited for the season to start. “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” – Hebrews 11:1

Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach – Coach Sarah has 17+ years of volleyball coaching experience.  She played club volleyball for the Huskers in her younger years. For the last 9+ years of coaching, she has coached club volleyball for G1 Volleyball Club in Gretna.  She is a former teacher and coach, but for the past three years have worked as a flight attendant.  When she is in Omaha she attends Relevant Community Church.  She is passionate about Jesus, education, youth development, and of course, volleyball.  She looks forward to assisting when she can and getting to know everyone. “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13

Jamie Miszuk – coachjamie@metrowarriors.org

High School Volleyball Coach – Coach Jamie is a Warrior alum with over 12 years of playing and coaching experience. Her competitive spirit and servant’s heart are strengths that she brings to her coaching style. She loves serving her team and motivating them to grow physically, mentally, and spiritually through playing volleyball. Seeing the girls have fun with each other, improve throughout the season, and put their hearts into playing for themselves, their teammates, and the Lord, brings her joy as a coach. Jamie enjoys being outdoors in the warm weather and enjoys any music that is chill and calming. She prefers spaghetti over most foods and her favorite drink in a cup would be Coke or coffee. “Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths.” – Psalm 25:4

High School Volleyball Coach – Coach Precious grew up in Omaha, NE, and is a Warrior alum. She loves playing cards and board games with friends and family. She grew up watching her aunt play for Warriors and she began her Warriors career in 7th grade. This is her fourth season coaching for the Metro Warriors and she loves every minute of it! Precious has a passion for the game and teaches the girls to work hard and play for the glory of our Lord.  She enjoys eating chicken as well as ice cream and she loves watching a good Broadway Musical. Her favorite drinks are lemon water and coffee. “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God..” – 1 Corinthians 10:31

Head Junior High Volleyball Coach – Coach Grace grew up in Omaha, NE, and has been a part of the Warrior program for 9 years. This is her third year coaching, and she’s looking forward to making the girls run laps- ahem, play Queen’s Court all practice long. Her favorite things to do involve napping in her hammock, writing, gardening, and keeping her addiction to tacos alive. Queso and guacamole are her weakness and she enjoys eating food from Chipotle. Santus Real is one of her favorite music groups. She can’t wait to coach her girls through victories and losses, teaching them to glorify God through all circumstances. Junior High/Elementary Volleyball Coach – Coach Lisa grew up in Grand Island, NE with a love for all things sports. She played volleyball, basketball, softball, and soccer throughout high school. Coach Lisa played volleyball at a junior college before transferring to play at UNK where she graduated with her 7-12 Special Education degree. She has 5 years of varsity volleyball & junior varsity basketball coaching experience. Lisa homeschools her 3 kids, helps her husband with his local business and also runs Omaha Sports Performance & Fitness for the homeschool community. She gets joy in coaching athletes to get better at the fundamentals and also taking their play to the next level. Her favorite activity is weightlifting, her favorite food is Mexican, her favorite music is Christian (and 90’s) hip hop, and her favorite drink is all the coffee in the world. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

Brigette Pettepier 

Camp Coach – Brigette (Root) Pettepier grew up in Giltner and Grand Island, NE and has played volleyball almost as long as she can remember, due to her dad Bill being a high school coach of 40 years. After playing for the Islanders 2004-2007, she went on to play with the Huskers from 2008-2011 and graduated with a degree in Nutrition & Exercise Science from UNL. She then moved to Omaha to attend UNMC for Radiology (X-ray) school. During and after school, she was blessed with many opportunities to continue coaching through lessons, camps, clinics and club. She has coached through Gretna’s G1 Club program for 10 years and enjoys passing on both skills and a love for the game to her young players. Outside of coaching, Brigette stays at home with her two kiddos (3.5 & 1) and works PRN as an x-ray tech at OrthoNebraska. She is also heavily involved in her church (Providence) and is a Children’s Leader through Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). In her free time, she loves to study God’s Word, “read with her ears” (aka listen to audiobooks & podcasts), go on walks, be outside, play pickup volleyball, and spend time with her husband Zach, kiddos, family, and friends.
