Head Coach – Varsity – Jessica Miszuk is one of our own Warrior alumni. She graduated from Calvary Bible College, aka Calvary University, with a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Counseling where she also played volleyball and basketball. After graduating from college she returned home to coach her old high school team, the Omaha Metro Warriors. She has coached a total of 12 years of volleyball and 7 years of basketball. Her passion as a coach is to help athletes see the value of bringing God into every practice and game. Jessica’s goal is to encourage her players to work their hardest for the glory of God, while still having fun and learning more about living life in community (teamwork). Reminding each of them that “whatever you do, do it HEARTILY, as to the Lord and not to men” (Colossians 3:23). She is excited to coach each girl the Lord brings her way. Not only on the court but also through the practical lessons of life that arise through each sport.
Assistant Coach – Junior Varsity 1 – Jamie is a Warrior alumni with over 10 years of playing and coaching experience. Her competitive spirit and servant’s heart are strengths that she brings to her coaching style. She loves serving her team and motivating them to grow physically, mentally, and spiritually through playing volleyball. Seeing the girls have fun with each other, improve throughout the season, and put their hearts into playing for themselves, their teammates, and the Lord, brings her joy as a coach.
Assistant Coach – Junior Varsity 2 – Precious is a Warrior alum. She grew up watching her aunt play through high school and started playing for the Warriors in 7th grade. This is her third season coaching for the Metro Warriors and she loves every minute of it! Precious has a passion for the game and to teach the girls to work hard and play for the glory of our Lord. “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31
Head Coach – Junior High – This will be Heidi’s fourth year coaching with Warriors girls. Heidi’s volleyball experience includes playing 7 years of volleyball between high school and college. She was an assistant coach at Omaha Christian Academy for three years before kids came along. She then took a 10 year break while the kids were babies and went back into coaching at Metro Warriors. She loves the opportunity to come alongside girls as they improve their volleyball skills as well as mentoring them and encouraging them in their walk with the Lord.
Assistant Coach – Junior High – Grace has been a part of the Warrior program for 8 years. This is her second year coaching, and she’s looking forward to making the girls run laps- ahem, play Queen’s Court all practice long. Her favorite things to do involve napping in her hammock, writing, and keeping her addiction to tacos alive. Queso and guacamole are her weakness. She can’t wait to coach her girls through victories and losses, teaching them to glorify God through all circumstances. For Him!
Assistant Coach – Junior High – A few notable things about Darcie is that she loves to talk, share her love of the ukulele with others, and admire fluffy clouds. Ultimately she enjoys the little things in life and just being wherever God wants her to be. Darcie is a Warrior alumni and played both volleyball and basketball for 8 years. This is her first year as a coach and she is enthusiastic about this new role that God has for her. While she definitely loves to win, she believes that sports are not just about winning, but glorifying the Lord with the attitudes that we have on and off the court. She has learned many lessons through being an athlete over the years and is looking forward to sharing those lessons learned with whoever she has the opportunity to coach.
